As I promised I will start my series of posts about the places to go in Kassel to have a party, so here we go:

• Freudenhaus: the center of the Erasmus nightlife, on wednesdays takes place the Erasmus Party, where nearly all the Erasmus students meet to have some beers (specially cheap in this parties) and hear some hits before ending the night in another club. In summer you can also enjoy the Biergarten, before the police come to send everyone there inside . You can also eat here, they have pizzas and other easy meals for good prices. • Cubaclub: this is usually the place we go after Freudenhaus, depending on the day you can hear the hits of the season (wednesdays), or different kinds of music on fridays and saturdays, like electronic music or alternative rock. There are two ambients, in the groundfloor you can sit down and talk enjoying a not very loud music, or you can choose the basement, where the real party takes place. Usually on wednesdays it’s totally crowded, lots of people, high temperatures, and Sanbuca!!!! They made a reform just before summer so now there is a Biergarten, the ground floor is bigger and the basement stays exactly the same.

So for today it’s all, I’ll continue with Lolita, Spot and A7 but that will be another day, by now I leave you here a map to find all these places.

Hey, some of us are going tomorrow to Frankfurt, so if anyone else want to come stay in Hauptbahnhof at 10am.

Also I announce that i will publish here a guide to Kassel, with the bars, places to go, things to do when arrive, etc…so stay on line!

This is the film that Florent has made about our first semester in Kassel, I hope you like it as much as we have done.

Hello!

I was the other day in the birthday tea party of Zarko and saw a book that was made for the DAAD Students and it’s a great idea, so I propose to make the same for the Erasmus and no-Erasmus people, so we have something to remember.

The idea is as follows: there is a page for every student, there will be a photo and a text about this person written by another person, there can be also texts about the countries of each one, the experience or whatever you like, also in the end of the book there will be a list with the adresses, telephones and emails of all the people.

What do you think? Good idea?

I would like to do it, so think about who would you like to talk about and look for photos!!!

Last Saturday we had the Spanish Party. As everything we do (the spanish) it was organised in record time, in fact the friday night we were planning everything in Caricatura (ein bar in Hauptbahnhof).

During the Saturday we made the shopping, the decoration, the food and surprisly everything was set up by the time we had said, so for one time the spanish were on time (we won’t be able to repeat this again).

All the people should think that we would be late, because the party was almost empty until 21.30h or even later. But finally almost 80 people came to the party to enjoy the food and drinks.

The menu consisted in:

• Tortilla
• Papas arrugás con Alioli
• Porra
• Embutidos
• Albondigas con tomate
• Banderillas
• Queso con carne de membrillo
• Tartas de galleta con chocolate y vainilla

All irrigated with:

• Spanish red wine
• Beer
• Sangria

And during the night some of the people could enjoy a bit of vodka (or not Bruno?).

We had spanish music mixed with international music, we didn’t wanted a collective suicide because of hearing only spanish music, and a funny game. We choosed Miss and Mister Kassel, with a voting system totally fair. And the winners were:

• Ms. Simpathy: Laura
• Mr. Simpathy: Sergio
• Ms.Kassel:Patricia
• Mr. Kassel: QiQe

There was no trick in the election, so it’s an accident that all were spanish.

I really had a good time, and I think everyone did, so sorry for those who couldn’t come, but anyway there will be more parties.

Hallo Leute

Heute Abend, haben wir unsere Spanische Party!! Wir haben schon mit vieler Leute gesprochen, aber vielleicht gibt es noch leute die noch nicht es wissen.

Also, die Termin ist gegen 20:30 in Nora Platiel 7, In Campus Club, nicht in Moritzstrasse, wie früher gesagt.
So Leute, wir kochen Spanische Essen, Bier und Sangría.

Since the holidays are fast approaching, I know many of you are headed home, and some are also going on a trip here and there. Well, for those intending to stay here in Kassel (like me!) and make sure this town doesn’t go somewhere else while everyone’s away, maybe you should leave your emails or contacts, on case there is something going on and we all get in touch. Also any suggestions for how and where to spend the holidays here are welcome. Happy holidays, and see u around.
